It was a tale of two halves with poor discipline in the first, but a much better second half performance see first clean sheet of the season.

Saturday saw Bury 2's play their first game of the season without conceding any points and a much needed win, Bury started brightly from the kick off keeping Sedgley Park in their own half for the first 20 mins with Sedgley showing poor discipline resulting in Fly Half Luke Cleary's first point's of the season from a penalty in the 15th minute.

From the Kick off Bury surged forward with again Sedgley's discipline being a factor resulting in the first of 3 yellow cards for the afternoon and with the visitors staff not happy with the decision of the Sedgley men coming in at the side of a ruck, from the resulting penalty a quickly taken tap penalty saw Ben Holland surge through the Sedgley defence for Bury's first try of the afternoon and Luke Cleary again converting, Bury 2's now leading 10-0.

But from the kick off saw a turn in the game with Sedgley making their first appearance in the Bury half and there they would stay till half time with Bury showing a mix of poor discipline and great defences work, Sedgely appeared just before half time to have grounded the ball over the Bury line only for the Referee to look through the melee of players and find Craig Boardman to be underneath the ball holding it up, however with great defending was the marred with Jordan Miller having only been on the pitch for two minutes to receive a yellow card for helping the winger in the resulting argument.

The second half saw a much better performance from Bury with Sedgley never really making it out of their own half, much better discipline and some great running rugby, passing the ball along the line and great forward rucking and mauling would lead to Bury scoring two more tries. The first of these would come only in the 66th minute of the game after several passages of play seeing Bury spreading the ball across the field but being met by a brave defending line from Sedgley. The pressure paid off as some great phase play saw the forwards securing ball and mixing in with the back line a resulting ruck on the Sedgley 10m line saw Luke Cleary now playing at 9 to spread the ball right to Mark Campbell and then to Robbie Stott who only had to pop the ball to his right for Craig Boardman to do nothing more but dive over the line to finish.

The last try saw some great forwards pressure from Bury driving Sedgley backwards over the line with great mauling for Jordan Miller to appease his earlier yellow card grounding the ball and securing the points for Bury.
