Bury beaten by Ormskirk again

Bury were looking to overcome their defeat to Ormskirk in the cup the previous week as they played them in the league. Bury made a few changes to their line-up bringing back James Swinburn back in to the side after a two week absence, to strengthen the second row.
The Rams recent performances have been disjointed to say the least; this may be down to the enforced changes made every week.
During the first half Bury really struggled to impose themselves on the game, struggling in the lineout they found field position difficult to come by at times. The scrum was functioning very well though and an area which Bury could look to exploit.
I was Ormskirk who would make the first inroads in the game, capitalising twice on Bury mistakes to take a commanding lead.
Bury fought back and were able to score a try of their own some good work in the forwards saw the Rams win a number of penalties and quick thinking by scrum half Dan Palmieri saw him evade the Ormskirk defence and touch down for an unconverted try.
This was not enough though and bury went in to the half time break 20-5 down.
It was a resurgent Rams spirit which came out after the changeover. The defence was much better, not allowing Ormsirk to settle and beginning to dominate the scrum. They struggled, however, to really make dents in the away sides defence. Jacob Maxwell’s introduction had allowed the set piece to settle and they were winning more ball in the loose.
Bury added to their total with a penalty but this was unfortunately all they could muster, in the last play of the game Bury attempted a loop move which went wrong and was capitalised on by the away side to give a final score of 25-8.
The Rams travel to North Manchester this week and a chance to get back on track. They must stop providing their opposition with golden chances, as it is through their own mistakes that they are losing games.
