And the traveling supporters weren't disappointed either with Bury winning 52 - 3 against Crosby St Mary's

Bury travelled to Crosby looking to continue their recent good form and were not disappointed in a convincing win.

Having arrived shortly before the kick off at Crosby St Mary's new ground, Bury were to click into gear quickly and broke out of their half with some slick forward play by Jordan Miller and captain Jonny Allen. This lead to some quick interlinking between centres Declan Hampson and Matthew Hindley before finding winger Dan Scanlon who opened the scoring in the left hand corner. The try was converted expertly by Adam Heath.

From the kick off, the home team pressed the Bury 22 metre line. An infringement from Bury led to the only points of the game for Crosby with a penalty kicked from right in front of the posts.

Bury were to respond in the only way they know and were back on the attack from the restart. After a knock on, the Bury pack led by Lee Slingsby, Alan Dobson and Andy Townsend, were able to win the ball against the head and feed the ball back to scrum half Dan Palmieri. Palmieri was able to outfox the opposition scrum half and back row before distributing to Heath, who having danced through the oncoming defence was able to increase the opposition lead before converting his own score with ease.

The game continued in the same form, with Bury winning all platform ball, Chris Potts dominating the line out from both sides put ins and creating opportunity after opportunity for the Bury pack to drive forward before releasing the Bury back line.
Following further tries from Declan Hampson and full back, Callum Paton, the bonus point was secured before the half time interval.

After the break the game continued in the same vein with Bury attacking at will. Although the Crosby defence held for periods, they were eventually broken down with fine execution and creativity on numerous occasions.

The first score of the second half was to come from a driving line out. The ball being caught by Chris Potts was fed back past the engine room of Robert Plant and Mark Blain to hooker Alan Dobson who was able to do the easy job of placing the ball down over the try line.

Credit has to be given to the home side, who were able to see the funny side of Matthew Hindley bursting through the centres to be tackled by the post protector and then being held up over the line by the full back. From the resulting scrum Bury were again able to steal the ball back against the head and number eight, Robert Plant, was able to pick up the ball and barge his way over the line using a mixture of power and finesse.

The final score of the game came through another slick move. After a driven line out the ball was fed out to the three quarter line and an inside ball from Declan (Graham) Hampson found the marauding Neil Ogden, who crashed through the defence to score and leave the game at 3-52.

Bury now enter the Christmas break before returning to action, at home, against Eagle on January 10th.
