Home Match

We had a sunny morning for our home match against Littleborough.

There were 16 players available: - Oscar, Ben, Joe, Nick, Will, Dominic, Hayden, Jake, Bradley, Max, Adam, Callum, Mickey, Zach, Zachery and Mark.

The coaches decided to play two matches so that all players got a decent game.

Match 1
Bury 25 - 10 Littleborough

Littleborough scored the first 2 try’s quite quickly which shocked the Bury players into action. Oscar was unlucky after doing a great run from the centre line. There was some excellent tackling, driving and team work resulting in Mickey equalising the score by getting 2 try’s in the first half. Zach S, who was the captain, continued to put his all into the game with some very strong driving and tactical moves allowing the ball to stay in Bury’s control for most of the 2nd half. Callum, after a good run, scored his first try of the season. Then Oscar got the last 2 try’s of the match after some fabulous teamwork.

Match 2
Bury 30 - 20 Littleborough

Bury started this match with the same enthusiasm that helped them win the last match. Will was the first to score a try closely followed by Max who did an excellent run down the wing resulting in his first try of the season. Just before the end of the 1st half Mickey scored his 3rd try of the morning. Just as the whistle blew for the 2nd half Joe took Littleborough by surprise by running straight down the middle scoring his first try of the season. Towards the end of the match the team didn’t give up, they carried on doing some brilliant passing and tackling. Jake scored his first try of the season and Dominic finished the game off by doing a good weaving in and out run to score his first try of the season.

Summary

What more can be said apart from well done to Bury. They played as a team all the time listening to each other and the passing and driving was good. There were 5 players who scored for the first time this season and the Man of the Match went to Joe who hasn’t been playing long for Bury.

Thank you Alison for the report !!
