Firstly a big welcome back to Zach who has been unable to play since before Christmas and was desperate to play according to his Dad.
The boys were a bit apprehensive about this game; the last match against a very big and physical Tyldesley side resulted in a very tough game.
The first try of the match went to Tyldesley closely followed by an equaliser from Mark who scored after an excellent run. The boys were tackling well and showed some improved playing. After a little bit of persuasion from Phil, Max came on in the second half and made a fabulous run down the wing to score Bury’s second try.
The boys never gave up which shows in the final score. They put some good tackles in preventing Tyldesley scoring as many try’s as in there previous match.
Man of the match went to Mark
Coaches Note:
Due to our frozen pitch we had to play on the smaller Derby pitch, this was a slight disadvantage, as the plan was to move the very big team of Tyldesley around.
The players made the coaches very proud in the way they competed against the bigger side; this was probably our best performance this season, even though we lost. A mention for Mark who had an outstanding game in both running with the ball, tackling and show the others how to ruck and thoroughly deserved the MoM award.
Thank you again for the report Alison.
