Boy it was wet

Today we were away to Rochdale, it was very wet and cold but this didnt deter the lads .

Todays squad was

FORWARDS
Ethan A, Ethan G, Ethan J, Cairon

BACKS
CJ, Sean ,Rhys,Kyle, James, Bob, Josh and Olli

Sean was captain today and lead the team well , constantly communicating with the team (especially CJ) which he has been working on in practice and is now showing in games Great stuff pal.

The forwards were up for it today, with Ando and the rest making ground whenever they had the ball in hand, they never shied away from contact and were presenting the ball well, supporting the backs well and playing as a unit ,Great to see lads.

The backs were also up for it, with Sean leading the way they made ground and put rochdale under pressure many times during the game.

The handling today was vastly improved in not the best conditions, the ball was slippy and so was the playing surface making it very difficult for the lads, that said I think everyone had the ball in hand at sometime during the game, which to me says the support play is getting better and better.

Ando was given MOM today for his running, contact and passion he has vastly improved since joining us and has made the tighthead position his own, well done pal.

Olli was yet again given Bosh of the week, his defensive tackling and game reading skills are always second to none, and with his partner Josh back in the fold, the BASH EM BROS were back, saving numerous trys on the line and covering every blade of grass on the pitch.

CJ , James, Bob and Kyle all improved today, Cjs passing was accurate and when he got caught out in a scrum he immediately tackled their scrum half and floored him.
Bob and Kyle are always in support and Kyle especially had a few good runs gaining ground each time.
James really impressed me today he only played for 10 mins or so but his confidence is growing and his contributions are too, his support play has improved a lot this season and he even managed a few runs with the ball in hand ,keep it up pal.

We played a very long game today 3x 15 minute periods and by the 3rd period the boys were shattered and cold, Rochdales ref gave us the option of whether to play the last period or not and I was so happy when the lads came out for it(it was their decision), yes a couple needed coaxing but they still came out and never gave up, the team spirit that is building in our squad is awesome, they decided to play for each other even though we were being well beaten score wise, I know coaches that would die for the commitment the boys showed today, I really hope it continues to grow.
The ref and coaches commended our boys on our spirit which is getting to be a habit now and I like it.
Special mention to Dave who has the lurgy but still showed up in support and also did a cool impression of David Bailey(ask your parents lads) so everyone check out his great pics.

The “Bury Massive” were out in force cheering us on as per usual with Ollies Mum screaming her head off at times, as always we couldnt do this without you guys and we thank you for your continued support .

In closing the attitude ,commitment and sheer doggedness the boys showed today was a pleasure to see, Yes we got beat, Yes we got wet and cold, but we are always improving and I cant think of a better way to spend a Sunday than with you lads, im gonna miss you all in the offseason.
Nxt week is the Rochdale tournament and while mars bars are up for grabs for a win, I want the boys to enjoy what should be a great day out for everyone.

BE PROUD LADS I certainly was today
